Painting furniture….the before photos..

I’ve been in bubble wrap euphoria the past few days with packing for my move.  So far I’ve managed to use 150 feet of the stuff 🙂  I have a lot of kitchen things, but I prefer to make sure my things can bounce if necessary!

This weekend I’m tackling a painting project.  Probably a little crazy on my part, but the movers are here next week and I have to make sure the paint is dry.  I’m painting my 12 year old Pier 1 headboard and dresser Silver Leaf by Behr.  I don’t want it to look perfect and I’m hoping I’ll achieve an antique appearance with this colour.  Since I’m doing my new decor on the cheap, I figured that painting this old furniture was one way to breathe new life into it for almost free!

What possessed me to buy matching furniture for my bedroom 12 years ago was the total ease of buying everything all in one place.  Thankfully my tastes have changed over the years – and hopefully for the better.

I’m painting my nightstand a beautiful blue by Behr called Aqua Spray.  It looks a fair bit like the blue on Tiffany boxes – a blue I’m rather fond of.  After the paint job, I’m planning on replacing the hardware in Vancouver.

I will post the after photos later in the week.
