Farfalla – a little slice of Europe in Vancouver

On the recommendation of one of my girlfriends, my mom and I went to Farfalla, a posh shop that serves an assortment of teas, baked goods & sandwiches and sells an assortment of products from Europe.  It reminded me of being in Europe, so I was hooked upon entry into Farfalla’s charming interior.

In addition to excellent service, our lunch totally rocked.  It was nice to have a turkey sandwich on a baguette that wasn’t a festival of blandness.  This sandwich had roasted red peppers, cheese, avocado (miam miam!), grainy mustard, mayo and some greenery.  We then had dessert:  coffee and raspberry macarons and a white chocolate macademia nut cookie.  The macarons weren’t quite like Laduree but were still tasty.  The cookie was lovely and nutty, rather than sickeningly sweet as some white chocolate cookies can be.  And speaking of Laduree, Farfalla is going to try to import their macarons in the future.  All I can say is it can’t be soon enough for me!

I was so focused on eating and looking at thing that I couldn’t recall the smell. However, I imagine in the morning when they start baking that it smells amazing!
